George Brown Botanic Gardens

Beautiful Gardens in the heart of Darwin

The Botanic Gardens are just outside of the Central Business District in Darwin and are around 42 hectares in size. The Gardens are full of all kinds of flora and fauna from the Northern Territory and are lovely for a stroll around to explore and see what you can find. The walks are also great for exercising and you will find people there at sunrise and sunset enjoying a walk or even a bike ride.

There is a Plant Display House and also educational features perfect for inquisitive children and adults alike!

You can privately hire a Segway at the Gardens which provides another excellent way to explore the area and at the entrance there is Eva’s Café and stop off for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.

The Council also use the Amphitheatre area for events such as the Christmas Carol Concert or most recently the Thai Water Festival.

Nearby is Mindil Beach where the Sunset Markets are held during the Dry Season and just down the road you will find the Museum and Gallery of the Northern Territory and Fannie Bay.
